[miracle (mir·a·cle/ˈmirək(ə)l) – A highly unlikely or extraordinary event, achievement, or occurrence that cannot be explained by natural or scientific laws and is believed to be the work of a divine force, bringing profoundly positive and welcomed outcomes]
As I’ve shared in previous blog posts, a series of unexpected events recently unfolded in my life, ultimately leading to my decision to grant full custody of my children to my ex-husband. This turn of events shocked me to my core, especially after all the sacrifices I had made for my children's well-being. I found myself overwhelmed by the weight of it all and felt a strong urge to get away.
When I began to think of places to go, Bali immediately came to mind. I started searching for resorts, but at first, only luxury options appeared—none of which piqued my interest. Then, I thought of Ayurveda (an ancient Indian holistic system) and included it in my search. It wasn’t long before I stumbled upon the Ayurvedagram Healing Centre located in the sacred city of Ubud, Bali. Within just a few days, I found myself on a plane headed to Ubud.
The two-hour car ride from the Denpasar International Airport to the Centre felt like a journey back to my parents’ homeland in Kerala, South India as I was surrounded by coconut trees, banana plants, and sprawling paddy fields.
The Ayurvedagram Centre exceeded all my expectations and felt like something beyond my wildest dreams. The Centre was very thoughtfully and beautifully designed, featuring a verdant landscape, stunning statues, serene pools, and tranquil waterfalls, all carefully crafted to create an atmosphere of complete relaxation.
Upon arrival, I was warmly welcomed and promptly checked into my room. Within hours, I consulted with my Ayurvedic physician. Then, later that evening, I had my first therapy session, which included a full-body oil massage and a purifying steam bath, followed by dinner.
The healthy and delicious vegetarian Ayurvedic food was served buffet-style in an alcohol-free and open-air setting, surrounded by lush greenery and calming water features. Soft devotional music played in the background, enhancing the peaceful atmosphere. After dinner, I walked a few rounds in the garden and paddy field area before returning to my room to unwind for the night.
A typical day at the Centre transpired something like this:
After just one day at the Centre, I felt a significant reduction in stress, and with each passing day, I felt increasingly rejuvenated. Within a few days, I was even bold enough to do a little exploring and managed to visit Manuaba Waterfalls, the Pyramids of Chi, as well as the Neka Art Museum.
When I returned to the United States, I didn’t just come back healed—I returned with newfound clarity and a sense of purpose. I figured out how to resolve 95% of the custody and visitation issues for my children with my ex-husband. Not only did this give me peace of mind, knowing my children would be okay and make progress, but it also reignited my motivation to fully dedicate myself to my business for the remainder of my time.
This experience wasn’t just a miracle for me—it was a profound revelation about how to enhance the well-being of mothers in general.
The medical industry, with all its advancements and expertise, still often operates reactively—treating illnesses and conditions after they arise rather than focusing on prevention and holistic well-being. While modern medicine has made remarkable strides in areas such as disease management, surgical innovation, and life-saving treatments, there remains a gap in proactive, integrative care. A truly balanced healthcare system would embrace both the cutting-edge advancements of medical science and the preventative, whole-body approaches that support long-term health and well-being.
One of the most critical areas where this balance is needed is maternal health. Mothers should be nurtured and healed both before and after childbirth—not just physically, but emotionally and mentally as well. Pregnancy and childbirth are transformative experiences, yet too often, women receive medical attention only when complications arise, rather than ongoing care that supports their overall well-being.
In my local mother’s group of nearly one hundred women, every single one had encountered a traumatic birth. Their experiences—and the well-being of their families—could have been profoundly different if a proactive, supportive healthcare system, such as an Ayurvedic Center, had been in place. Creating a center for the mothers in my own community would be a dream come true. If successful, I could share its benefits to other communities, empowering them to thrive as well.
When mothers are properly cared for, they are better equipped to raise healthy, resilient children. Research shows that a mother’s stress levels, nutrition, and emotional state directly impact fetal development and early childhood health. By prioritizing maternal wellness—through prenatal and postnatal support, stress reduction, proper nutrition, and holistic healing practices—we can help create healthier families and future generations. Neglecting this responsibility, on the other hand, may lead to serious, far-reaching consequences, making it all the more important to address it as soon as possible.
If you are currently enduring a lot of pain in your life due to negative relationships, poor physical, mental, and/or emotional health, or lack of fulfillment, you may just be on the verge of a series of breakthroughs that will lead you to your true purpose. Please don't give up on yourself—you might be amazed by what awaits on the other side!
