5 Rules To Becoming a Happier Mom

I know firsthand how overwhelming it can feel to be a mom in today’s world, but remember, it’s never too late to transform your life and create the future you believe you deserve. The powerful affirmations in the Happier Mom Daily Celebration Journal can help you create such a future.

If things feel so heavy that you can barely breathe, try this simple breathing technique:

Find a quiet spot, like the bathroom. Block out the noise of kids screaming or banging on the door with noise-cancelling headphones and calming music if necessary. Sit on the ground with your legs bent beneath you, cradle your head with your fingers, and take two quick inhales through your nose followed by a slow exhale through your mouth.

If you need to cry and release all the emotions you’ve been carrying, let it out. Crying helps release stress-relieving hormones, which can soothe your body and bring a sense of calm and emotional relief.

And while you’re at it, try counting 20 things you’re grateful for, opening and closing your fingers with each one.

Remember, no matter what’s happening around you, your own growth and progress matter. Keep focusing on improving your situation, even if the world feels chaotic.

Sometimes, the more positive and kind we try to be, the more negativity we encounter from others. In those moments, try the EFGH Method: Empathize with their struggles, Forgive them, recognizing their stress, Gratitude for their positive actions and the growth they inspire in you, and Hope for the best in their journey. You've got this!

No one can take away your soul, spirit, or happiness—unless you let them. While you can’t control others, you have full control over your own thoughts and actions. Joy isn’t just ordinary happiness; it’s the extraordinary feeling that comes after putting in extraordinary effort. This is your moment to claim your peace and joy. Remember, one bold step forward is far more powerful than staying stuck in fear of the past or the future.
